My name is Nicolas Brown. I whakapapa to the Peakman whānau, through Whakaki. I am an independent researcher, historian, and web developer, and a shareholder in Māori Freehold Land blocks across the Wairoa region, having succeeded to several blocks through my whakapapa.
I am a member of a Freehold Trust and have a lived understanding of what it means to navigate these systems as a shareholder.
This application grew out of a personal need. As a shareholder in a Freehold Trust, I found myself navigating fragmented systems — court records in one place, block data in another, share calculations done by hand.
I wanted one place where a shareholder could see their whenua, understand their share, and access the tools that matter.
It is still evolving — as we do.
For generations, Māori land shares were just numbers on paper. A percentage. An abstract figure.
We changed that. That gold square? That's YOUR whenua. Made visible for the first time.
